I remember that day as the one of the enjoyable day ever in Turkey if not in my list of travel days. When i booked a Jeep Safari in Alaturka Turkey Tour, i didn't expect such an adventurous safari, instead i imagine a laid back, a bit of a fun jeep cruise from one place to another. But it turned out totally the opposite.
The tour was one day full, we were picked up from Fethiye to another pick-up point while waiting for another tour members from Oludeniz. From there, about 10-12 people divided into two jeeps to places include Tlos Ancient City, Yaka National Park, Saklikent Gorge, Patara Beach, and Mud baths.
So here's the fun part! each of us was given a cylinder water gun/pump, and each car brought a bucket of water so we could reload the "water gun". Aaand... the game begun. As we sat inside the jeep, the water gun game begun. Each tourist member from each jeep started to aim and shot the gun to the member of another jeep (While the driver drove, of course). So throughout the journey we really played the water gun hard. But for safety reason, in a crowded public road and dangerous road, the tour guide reminded us all to stop for a while. This arrangement worked out pretty well, because not only the weather was quite hot (the water splash did help), but the "playing mode" really made the jeep cruise indeed memorable. So these are some pictures of places i visited that day.
Tlos Ancient City
Tlos Ancient city was belong to Lycian, and have gone through several empire started from Roman, byzantium, and the latest Ottoman. The city dated back to almost 4000 years ago. The prominent part of the city is the Tombs that attached to the rock/wall. In the Jeep Safari, we only stopped by overlooking the tombs, but we didn't go inside and explore the ruins.
Yaka Park
Yaka park is family park to relax and enjoy some Turkish food. In the area, we can find local turkish make traditional food, and weaving Turkish carpet. We can also enjoy the man-made water stream and waterfall.
Saklikent Gorge
In the saklikent Gorge, we can walk around the park, just sit and enjoy the landscape, swimming or rafting down the stream. I did the last one, and it such a cool experience. It is said to be the second largest gorge in Europe (20 km long), and the largest in Turkey.
Mud Bath
Yes, i could take the picture because i didn't go mud bathing. I know it such a fun thing to do, but i just did not want to get dirty at that time. So i just wandering around and enjoy the scenery ;)
