Visit to Whitsunday is one part of the Queensland trip I had been waiting for. The white sand of the beach clearly mesmerized me. We took full day tour departing from Airlie Beach. The tour that we took explore Whitsunday Island in the morning and Hamilton Island in the afternoon and provided by Cruise Whitsunday. Whitsunday Islands Whitsunday Islands is a group of 74 islands, and it’s best part is Whitehaven Beach. The water is so clear and the silica sand is by far the whitest I have seen. The tour that we took departed from Port of Airlie at 7 am, and it passed Daydream Island before arriving at Whitsunday Island. We were given about 3 hours to play in the Whitehaven beach and or explore the island. We could also snorkel if we want. Since I had dreamed about playing sand and water, I spent almost most of the time just relaxing, took some pictures, and played around the Whitehaven Beach. A Short stop in Daydream Island Hamilton Island In the afternoon, we left for Hamilton island. The difference with Whitsunday Island, Hamilton Island is more “modern” island, there are bars, restaurants, many offers for water sports, and there’s also Hamilton Island Yachts Club and Hamilton Island Golf Club. If Whitsunday is quite, Hamilton island is vibrant. It’s almost like a city on itself. It even has an airport. So if you want to leave the Queensland mainland, Hamilton Island is your alternative point of departure to Whitsunday island (rather than from Airlie Beach). We were dropped off in the Hamilton island Marina to look for lunch and had another two hours before going back to Airlie beach. Along the main street in front of the Marina, there are lots of Restaurant with seafood specialties. We ate at Marina Tavern. We also took a short bath in its free shower and bathroom facilities before going back to Airlie. Checked out from Airlie Beach @October 29th, 2014
