Gold Coast from Skypoint Observation Deck
Excitement instantly fulfilled my blood the moment I stepped my feet on GoldCoast. Goldcoast is a city full of entertainment and during the planning process I had a struggle on what attraction I should visit. There are just so much thing I could do. Relax on the Surfer Paradise beach, challenge myself climbing the highest point in Goldcoast at Skypoint, Australia wildlife encounter in Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary, or mingle with lost myself in Lamington National Park or Tamborin Mountain , ooorrr be forever young at the amusement parks.

Maheno Ship Wreck
Fraser Island was the long awaited Trip. Great Barrier Reef, Whitehaven Beach, and now Maheno Ship Wreck in Fraser Island. It was one of the attractions I was longing to experience.

About Fraser Island
Fraser island is the largest Sand Island in the world. That means we literally step on the sand soil whenever we’re on the island! Its length is 123 kilometer and 22 kilometers wide. It’s listed among another Australia heritage site such as Uluru and Great Barrier Reef. The island is named after Eliza Frazer, a survivor from a shipwreck that landed on the island. Fraser island is home of about 50 species, it has over 100 lakes (and that makes Fraser island a places with largest number of lakes in Australia after Tazmania). If you want to visit Fraser Island, you can choose between Hervey Bay, Maryborough and Bundaberg. My departure point was Hervey Bay.

First thing first, what is Great Barrier Reef anyway?

I’d say Great Barrier Reef is the Kingdom of the Sea, home of 1625 types of fish. It is where not only sea creature, but human are also welcomed. Human (like us) can have scuba diving, snorkeling, glass-bottomed boat viewing, semi-submersible and many other activities in the Great Barrier Reef. The reefs stretch for about 2300 kilometers in the northeast of Australia (Queensland).

Planning a Dream Vacation to Queensland

My last several trips before Queensland didn’t involve any beach. It was winter trip to Iceland and Italy, or even autumn in South Korea where I mostly explored mountains and its big city. So the need for a beach vacation was so strong. And it had been sometime that I follow Queensland official In Instagram that my mind immediately attracted to Whitsunday Beach in Queensland when i wanted to go to the beach. Alsoo… by going there, i could explore Great Barrier Reef, which hundreds of its photos had been haunting me in my dream (not quite exactly). At that time there was this airplane ticket promo to Gold Coast. So I felt like that was it, it was destined. That would be my first trip to Australia as well.
