Golden Circle is the famous tourist route in southern Iceland, where the tour depart and arrive back to Reykjavik and passing few tourist attractions such as Hellisheiðarvirkjun, the Geothermal Power Plant in Iceland, Skálholt, Gullfoss Waterfall, Geysir, and Thingvellir National Park.
Southern Iceland has the most dramatic landscape. We decided to follow tour that brought us as far as Reynifsjara, the beautiful beach with black sands. These are places that we visited that day.
When I hear about the word “city”, I always think about skyscraper buildings, wide highway, horn blazing, people packing the main street, and traffic jam. And when I think about “village”, my mind flash to a serene place, fresh air, green grass, and blue skies. But Reykjavik redefine those words for me.
I mean… why not? Picture of Iceland got me iced on my seat when I first saw Seljalandsfoss Waterfall. Social media such as Instagram, Facebook, and others really help spread the VERY GOOD news about wonderful places. I was just back home from a trip and remembered screaming out loud saying:” This is going to be my next travel destination !”. There was no doubt about it. And to Iceland i went, in the winter.... to experience Winter Wonderland.
In no particular order…… these are why you must visit Iceland ;)
